Mijn levensloop als kunstenaar.
9 jaren heb ik op meerdere kunstinstellingen gestudeerd. Studie, onderzoek en experiment zijn de basis voor mijn werk als kunstenaar.
Gedurende de eerste 21 jaar van mijn kunstenaarschap werkte ik als artistiek coördinator aan een educatieve kunstinstelling, 20 uren per week. Daarnaast werkte ik als onafhankelijk en vrij kunstenaar.
Tijdens mijn 55 jaar als kunstenaar is mijn werk altijd gericht geweest op de vragen; wat is kunst, wat is de zin van kunst en hoe kan ik mijn werk verbeteren, vooral met betrekking tot het maken van kunstwerken die getuigen van een nieuwe zienswijze.
Mijn beste kunstwerken zijn door mijn levenshouding apart. Deze kunstwerken zijn geen decoratieve werkstukken, maar zij geven uitdrukking aan mijn gedachten over het menselijk bestaan.
Waarom laat ik mijn werk zien ?
In de eerste plaats om aan anderen te laten zien waarmee ik bezig ben. Gedurende mijn leven heb ik regelmatig kunstwerken verkocht en opdrachten uitgevoerd. Ook was mijn werk te zien op exposities in galeries en musea en tegenwoordig op het internet.
Voldoening vind ik vooral in die momenten waarin het mij weer gelukt is een nieuwe weg te vinden. Als persoon leef ik in de hedendaagse wereld waarin het menselijk bestaan onderworpen is aan allerlei regels, kritiek en dwingende druk uit onze omgeving. Ik werk als kunstenaar aan mijzelf om beperkingen in mij te verwijderen. Dit doe ik in het kunstproces en in mijn gedachten.
Wellicht dragen mijn werkstukken dit uit.
