Xavier COURNAC (Xc) est né le 20 Novembre 1972 à Bobigny. Il a depuis l’enfance consacré une grande partie de son temps au dessin et à la peinture.
Il emprunte la voie du lycée professionnel pour entreprendre une filière scolaire artistique à l’Ecole Boulle à Paris pendant quatre années. Il reprend ensuite ses études en filière classique à l’ESAD (Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design) à Amiens où il obtient son DNAP (Diplôme National d’Arts Plastiques) avec comme option le design objet et graphique.
Dès 1992, Il s’intéresse à l’art visuel, commence à peindre de l’art gestuel abstrait et fait sa première exposition d’huiles sur bois sur le thème des « violences intérieures ».
En 1995, il change de voie et se consacre pleinement à son métier d’animateur jeunesse.
En 1998, il s’installe dans le Finistère dans la commune de Pleuven et en 2000 recommence à peindre pour le plaisir.
Depuis deux ans, son penchant pour le dessin et la peinture est réapparu beaucoup plus fort. A présent il souhaite à nouveau partager ses créations.
L’artiste emploie actuellement principalement de l’acrylique mais il utilise toutefois bon nombre d’autres matériaux : tissu, collage papier, encre, et plus récemment une technique de transfert photo. Il est curieux d’apprendre constamment de nouvelles techniques.
Passionné de la vie animale et de la nature, il reprend dans cette collection (Bestiaire et jardin), ces deux thèmes qui lui tiennent à cœur.
