About the author
Pascal RIVIERE is a self-taught painter. After a few years devoted to oil painting and watercolor, followed by a ten-year hiatus, he once again immersed himself in the pleasures of painting, this time exploring the universe of acrylic.
Pascal likes painting which does not need instructions for use, that which cannot be explained, which is contemplated without speech. First inspired by impressionist painters like Caillebotte or Sisley, his work is strongly influenced by figurative, realistic and even hyperrealist painting.
Born in 1960 on Reunion Island, he lived there for sixteen years. He remembers the superb sunsets over the sea or the lush forests in the heights of this island. Today he lives in Seine et Marne. He draws a large part of his inspiration from the magnificent landscapes of this region. The forest of Fontainebleau, the banks of the Seine, the Briard villages, are all opportunities to pick up the brushes.
