Michel CASTEL
Born in 1953 in Gaillac, lives and works in the Toulouse region.
Light and colors, the strength of graphics are the keys to Michel Castel’s expression.
A self-taught artist, he asserts a very personal style far removed from the fashions and conventions of the moment. After much research in different themes, Michel Castel found a favorite interest in the representation of the views of Toulouse, a city that he particularly likes and to which he is very attached having spent his entire life there since he was twenty and in which he finds a sweetness of life which he tries to translate onto the canvas.
He testifies in his work to a form of expression which leaves him a plastic freedom in a permanent back and forth between figurative drawing and colored abstraction according to an alert and dynamic pictorial writing which gives him acrylic paint conducive to this type of execution. The juxtaposed color transparencies fit together to create a warm harmony. The painter has this alchemy of line and color that generates dreams.
In his quest for beauty there is a mobilization in search of a form of happiness and felicity.
