Marie Jo Maillé
Née à Montréal Marie Jo Maillé a son premier contact avec l'art au Camp des Arts du Mon Orford en 1964. Lors d'un voyage en France elle a un coup de foudre pour l'oeuvre de Vasarely.
C'est en 1976 qu'elle commence à peindre. Elle étudie alors le dessin au New School for Social Research et l'art graphique au Pratt Institute of Graphic Design de New York. Elle découvre l'art contemporain et les couleurs de Joseph Albers.
Elle combine l'influence de Vasarely et celle d'Albers pour trouver son propre style.
En 1985 elle se remet à la peinture et elle produit de nombreuses toiles.
C'est aussi en 1985 qu'elle participe à l'Atelier du Geste sous la gouverne de Robert Dubuc lui-même disciple du Frère Jérôme. Avec de la gouache elle fait de l'automatisme. Elle expose avec ce groupe en avril 1989 et en avril 1990. Cette expérience libératrice l'amène à aller plus loin dans son style et à oser plus.
Elle peint alors à différentes périodes de sa vie mais c'est en 2013 qu'elle y revient à plein temps. Elle peindra sans arrêt jusqu'à ce jour.
En 2017 elle commence à explorer le mouvement des plasticiens.
L'acrylique est le médium utilisé et elle peint sur des panneaux de bois qualité galerie depuis 2016.

Exposition solo à la clinique Laoun à côté du Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal en novembre 2017.
