About the author
Yoann Carnoy is an artist photographer using a particular technique: light painting, literally "Painting with Light". Light makes it possible, in photography, to capture the world as it is. The camera is an object of the instantaneous, of the immediate, by allowing time for the light to dance on the film, we obtain a blurred image that can twist, sculpt itself, display dreamlike gradations of colors according to its only desire.
To paint with this painting of light, he uses an unconventional brush. The body. The latter can finally free himself from his identity and from his physical flesh that he carries daily. It allows him to disguise himself as whatever he wishes, to dance and express himself in an ethereal form. When our eye sees a part of a body, various mechanisms of the mind (such as pareidolia for example) will automate its recognition. "This is a hand, I'm sure of it," he thought to himself. But if this hand wants to become a peacock, the lightpainting will erase its image from the mind's eyes, allowing the latter to dream and see a peacock drawn in front of it.
Yoann Carnoy was born in February 1989 in the Paris region. He lives and works in Aix-les-Bains (France). He studied Art at university and he continues to train himself to create his own techniques.
