Erwin Esquivel was born in Cereté, a small village on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. At the age of 7, thanks to winning a painting competition, he discovered his passion for painting and became self-taught.[...]
Erwin Esquivel was born in Cereté, a small village on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
At the age of 7, thanks to winning a painting competition, he discovered his passion for painting and became self-taught. At 18 Erwin settled in Bogota to study and later received his diploma in Publicity from the University of Bogota. Not forgetting his passion for painting, he continued to perfect his technique. Erwin's principle subject for several years was the female nude. He has had exhibits in Bogota, Washington and Miami. Today his main body of work explores the world of color, seeking a harmonic dialogue between drawing, line, color and light.
