Issu d’une famille de militaires, moitié Breton, moitié Normand,je suis très vite attiré ,après de nombreuses vacances au bord de la mer, sur la côte Bretonne ou dans la ville du Havre, par la mer et les navires, et décide d’en faire mon métier
Mon goût pour la peinture, qui me vient peut-être d’un Grand Oncle Havrais, Officier de Marine et peintre éclairé, apparait en 1988, durant mes grandes traversées océaniques, pendant lesquelles je commence à embarquer pinceaux et aquarelles, pour occuper mes temps libres.
Autodidacte, je peaufine ma technique au fil des années dans les livres spécialisés. En 2005, ma rencontre avec l’aquarelliste Jean Pierre Rémon qui anime une traversée Transatlantique, redynamise ma production, toujours inspirée par les escales et les paysages découverts au hasard de mes navigations, ainsi que par les différents types de navires qui sillonnent ou ont sillonné les mers.
Avide de découvertes, je me mets à l’acrylique en 2008 puis à l’encre et depuis travaille aussi bien ces diverses techniques, au gré de mes inspirations et de ma passion pour la mer et les navires. Ma passion pour la photo me sert pour la recherche de mes sujets.
Mes grands inspirateurs restent les peintres maritimes anglophones comme Stephen J.Card, Harvey Crossley Julian Taylor ,ou Robert Lloyd.
