That is a very fair point - totally happy to be invited to show one piece of work in London last month along with 45 other emerging artists - and now to be featured as one of the artists with WITP - http://www.witp-art.com/artists It's a really nice organisation and driven by Kate Enters, an artist herself, a good opportunity to put work in the public domain and to have feed back as well as discuss your work with other motivated and driven artists. This is my submission - it's called "Plastic Life" http://www.laurentnurisso.com/peintures/plastic-life and what inspired me to create this work - was exactly that - 'what is the point?' - in this socially mediacric world, creating a superficial face, botox or extreme plastic surgery - can only do so much, because ultimately we can't prolong the inevitable. So my work focussed on the doll as a child's toy becoming an emblematic statement for a young adult - you know that Kardashian look, but whay, what motovates and does it make you/them any more or any less satisfied. I doubt it, so I dubbed all this falsehood as I see it, an unreal yet real part of life. Plastic Life.

As an emerging artists, coming out a bit later on in life - it's a big challenge, a little daunting and totally absorbing. These three pieces have all had a very recent update - it was weird because I liked my initial idea, but when they were finished they somehow just didn't come together. It was no big deal because they had only just been shown. I think we must all go through these moments of self-doubt, but what do other artists do when faced with the pressure of having to show new work, because you've committed to it, but something is not quite how you want to express it. Aaaaah - what is there to learn about self evaluation or is this a part of being an artist? Lesson 1 - next time, will put them to one side until I'm as 100% as I possibly can be.
