A series of paintings made with charcoal pencil and acrylic paints is a triptych united by one plot reading. Multi-colored splashes of paint, beating with a strong pressure, as a symbol of the daily celebration of life, coloring the human world with many shades of bright emotions. But in fact, we are not always ready for the strength of these emotions and unconsciously try to isolate ourselves from them by extinguishing the pressure. Because an explosion of sincere feelings is our vulnerable point, something that we try never to bare, out of fear of being misunderstood, condemned or ridiculed, is like appearing naked, not covered up. But on the other hand, this is the emotional component of life itself.

Anastasia Kuznetsova-Ruf is a contemporary award-winning Russian painter. Her paintings, which combine many techniques, explore concepts of infinity and place an emphasis on spotting the odd and overlooked aspects of daily life. The hybrid method used by Kuznetsova-Ruf is suggestive of coloured monochrome drawings, and the results are hyperrealistic. She plays with the contrast between the smooth surface of the tempera painting and the velveteen charcoal shading of the human forms against the background of light that seems to go on forever.

Anastasia Kuznetsova-Ruf was born in 1983, in Russia, where she graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art and from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. Kuznetsova-Ruf is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and she is included in the "Top 100 Recognized Artists of Russia".

For more than 20 years she has participated in national and international exhibitions, biennales of contemporary art, auctions and art fairs. Kuznetsova-Ruf’s paintings are in private and public collections worldwide, including the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Beijing State Museum.
