Original Ölgemälde “Il Padrino – The Godfather – Der Pate” – Portrait des Schauspielers Marlon Brando in seiner unvergessenen Rolle als Don Vito Corleone, der Pate. Der Oscar-prämierte US-Spielfilm von Francis Ford Coppola basierte auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Mario Puzo, der gemeinsam mit Coppola auch das Drehbuch verfasste.

Für Carmelo Di Bella, selbst aus Sizilien stammend, war dieser Film seinerzeit ein Stück Heimat, wenngleich er die Mafia und andere mafiöse Strukturen stets verurteilte. Das Ölgemälde entstand im Nachgang zu einer Auftragsarbeit eines italienischen Restaurantsbesitzers, der seinem Restaurant den Namen “Il Padrino” gab.

Jahr: 1981; mit eingearbeiteteter Signatur des Künstlers.

Maße: 35 cm breit, 45 cm hoch.
