Born in 1963, of Guyanese origin, hence his nickname, Kayen has been drawing since childhood. In 1981 he graduated from the Estienne school and then left for Guyana where he continued to paint. Back in France he founded with a friend a fanzine (Zapateado) where linocuts take an important place, then participates in 1987 in an exchange with Bulgarian artists. He then painted very large formats (3 x 10m). Some of his works are sold at Drouot. At the same time, he earns his living by working in agencies. In 1991 he founded the magazine "Drunk" for which he produced illustrations and layout. In 1993 he joined the daily Liberation as deputy artistic director, then in 1997 returned to Guyana. He continues to paint and produces frescoes with college students in Saint-Laurent du Maroni.
In 1999, he took part in the filming of Jacques Perrin's film "The Migratory People" as a manager. In 2002 he left for Tahiti, this is where Oceania began to influence his work. The “ethnic” aspect takes precedence over his figurative works. In 2008, he obtained his cabinetmaking CAP and then left for New Caledonia. He produced one or two "wild" exhibitions there. Today, a member of the rock group "Ukan", he continues to paint and draw.
