Cette réalisation, à partir de la photo d'une amie, semi abstraite est inspirée d'un moment apéritif ; c'est le titre du tableau.

Réalisation au pastel sec sur carton, avec fond préparé avec du gesso mélangé à de la poudre de marbre pour l'obtention d'une matière granuleuse. La réalisation au pastel sec est venue ensuite.
L'effet de texture donne une dimension tactile à l'œuvre. Ce relief permet aussi dans le réel une accroche de la lumière et rend les couleurs plus vives.
La représentation imprécise du quartier d'orange et de probables glaçons et reflets joue avec la perception du spectateur et invite à une observation attentive. Cette invite est renforcée par le choix d'un format carré qui équilibre la composition sans donner une orientation particulière. Le spectateur est accompagné à se concentrer davantage sur les détails et les éléments centraux de l'œuvre. La direction du regard vers le sujet principal est facilitée par les couleurs chaudes de l'orange, mises en contraste avec le bleu profond du fond.
Le verre en gros plan qui occupe presque toute la surface de l'œuvre évoque une impression d'immédiateté et d'intimité.
Cette proximité avec le sujet peut également accentuer l'abstraction, car les détails et les contours sont vus de très près et peuvent se perdre dans les formes et les couleurs, ouvrant ainsi la porte à l'interprétation personnelle.

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.
