This gouache watercolor depicts the last catapult of a "sky sailor" (fighter pilot on board in naval aeronautics) from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91). As is tradition, it is the commander himself who comes to give the order to catapult the Rafale Marine with his saber.
Format 65x50

Passionate about the marine world since that day when my parents took me to see the Voiles de la Liberté in 1989, I am interested in everything that evolves above or below the surface, material or living, from sailboat to container ship passing by the transatlantic ships and the abyss monsters, whether they are nuclear attack submarines or great white sharks.
This obvious attraction for this fascinating, beautiful, fragile but sometimes hostile world was combined with my interest in drawing. Encouraged by my father to give them colors, I crossed the course in the summer of 2013 by painting my first painting. Watercolor technique for some, gouache for others, everyone will have their own idea. The important thing for me is to take off, for a moment, to whoever will look at these sea scenes that I like to stage: The ocean liner France leaving Pier 88 in New York, Cape Horners fighting against the elements, a marine predator lurking in the depths, a submarine returning from a mission or simply the tranquility of a sailboat docking along a quay, so many impressions which, I l 'hope, will not leave indifferent the most landlocked Earthman as the most seasoned sailor.
This exploration of the maritime world led me in 2017 to become actively involved in the Citizen Reserve of the French Navy for which I work as a public service volunteer in order to raise awareness among the population and more particularly the youth. to the major contemporary maritime challenges but also to the broad spectrum of professional horizons represented by the sea trades.
