Et angelo Philadelphiæ ecclesiæ scribe: Hæc dicit Sanctus et Verus, qui habet clavem David: qui aperit, et nemo claudit: claudit, et nemo aperit:

Scio opera tua. Ecce dedi coram te ostium apertum, quod nemo potest claudere: quia modicam habes virtutem, et servasti verbum meum, et non negasti nomen meum.

Ecce dabo de synagoga Satanæ, qui dicunt se Judæos esse, et non sunt, sed mentiuntur: ecce faciam illos ut veniant, et adorent ante pedes tuos: et scient quia ego dilexi te,

quoniam servasti verbum patientiæ meæ, et ego servabo te ab hora tentationis, quæ ventura est in orbem universum tentare habitantes in terra.

Ecce venio cito: tene quod habes, ut nemo accipiat coronam tuam.

Qui vicerit, faciam illum columnam in templo Dei mei, et foras non egredietur amplius: et scribam super eum nomen Dei mei, et nomen civitatis Dei mei novæ Jerusalem, quæ descendit de cælo a Deo meo, et nomen meum novum.

Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis.

(E ao anjo da igreja que está em Filadélfia escreve: Isto diz o que é santo, o que é verdadeiro, o que tem a chave de Davi; o que abre, e ninguém fecha; e fecha, e ninguém abre:

Conheço as tuas obras; eis que diante de ti pus uma porta aberta, e ninguém a pode fechar; tendo pouca força, guardaste a minha palavra, e näo negaste o meu nome.

Eis que eu farei aos da sinagoga de Satanás, aos que se dizem judeus, e näo säo, mas mentem: eis que eu farei que venham, e adorem prostrados a teus pés, e saibam que eu te amo.

Como guardaste a palavra da minha paciência, também eu te guardarei da hora da tentaçäo que há de vir sobre todo o mundo, para tentar os que habitam na terra.

Eis que venho sem demora; guarda o que tens, para que ninguém tome a tua coroa.

A quem vencer, eu o farei coluna no templo do meu Deus, e dele nunca sairá; e escreverei sobre ele o nome do meu Deus, e o nome da cidade do meu Deus, a nova Jerusalém, que desce do céu, do meu Deus, e também o meu novo nome.

Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.)





(And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
