Comme un rappel.
Souvenir d’un mot rond, l’un de ces mots nouveaux découverts dans les bouches aimantes et dont j’allais apprendre qu’ils se collaient aux objets comme les étiquettes que ma mère mettait aux pots de confiture.
Myrabelle…
Un mot-bruit, un mot-fruit qui avait à sa naissance une étonnante mélodie. Un mot qui se mêle dans l’instant de sa renaissance à un autre entendu bien plus tard à Florence, un mot-cousin et qui glisse sur la langue mouillée. Un mot du Sud. Un mot long juste assez pour qu’on en déguste la musique magique. Un mot grave et doux : mira… miravi… meravigliosa !
Myrabelle…
Il suffit que le mot ressuscité rajoute à sa voyelle une brindille et me voilà perché. Un craquement doux sous mes pieds d’enfant niché. Je suis dans l’arbre du verger et je secoue ses branches pour faire pleuvoir sur le pré, avec des plocs sonores, des planètes minuscules et dorées.
Sous l’arbre, les paroles de mon père résonnent entre les mondes.
J’entends sa voix dans les intonations des habitués du café brun. Elle a les craquements chuintés que le temps met aux bribes de souvenirs et qu’Amsterdam colle au nom des canaux et des rues : à l’angle de Prinsengracht et de Vijzelgracht, tout me parle soudain de mon enfance avec l’accent de mon père.

Ce texte a été écrit en rebond à partir de l'oeuvre peinte, à la façon d'une chanson où la peinture serait la musique et les mots seraient les paroles. Depuis plusieurs année, ces textes sont rassemblés et édités.
L'oeuvre fait partie d'une série "CAFÉS" qui compte 31 toiles au 28 décembre 2019. Il s'agit de scènes de genre avec échange entre plusieurs personnages.

Jean-Paul Schmitt is a contemporary award-winning French artist. Watercolors, inks, pencils, and acrylics are used to create a preliminary study in Schmitt's artistic process. He switches to the thick oil paste on canvas, once the dynamics of color have been established.

Jean-Paul Schmitt was born in 1947, in France. He is a member of the Lyons Academy of Painting (ALP), the Regional Association of Arts (ARA) and the Group of Twelve.
