“At the origins of my work, nature, in particular animals, is my source of inspiration, inexhaustible and fascinatingly diverse. I am a Figurative but not a Naturalist, which allows me to nuance the details, erase them or accentuate them according to the subject and the material. »

It is essentially from the earth that the sculptures of Jean-François Leroy are born. A bit of straight cutting at times, but time is no match for that. It is therefore most often the clay that is modeled then chiseled, sanded and smoothed according to its hygrometry and the progress of the work. Precarious balance, fragility of matter. When it comes to making a bronze, many technical steps that he masters will follow one another in his workshop. Apart from the casting entrusted to his founder, he makes moulds, waxes, welds, carvings, polishings, patinas.

Designer for the Baccarat and Daum crystal works and the Odiot goldsmith house.
