This painting was inspired by the changing skies and ancient landscape of north-eastern Britain, where I spent much time last winter, exploring its coastlines and ancient landscapes.
It's painted on canvas stretched over a wooden frame using professional artist quality acrylics, including ultramarine, pthalo green, sap green, viridian,[...]
This painting was inspired by the changing skies and ancient landscape of north-eastern Britain, where I spent much time last winter, exploring its coastlines and ancient landscapes.
It's painted on canvas stretched over a wooden frame using professional artist quality acrylics, including ultramarine, pthalo green, sap green, viridian, burnt umber, Paynes Grey and white, with some bronze and gold metallic paint in the foreground to give a shimmering, iridescent quality. It has deep edges which are painted white, and is completed with one layer of varnish for protection.
The painting is initialled in the lower right front and is labelled/signed in full on the reverse. It is unframed and there are picture hooks and cord on the back so it's ready to hang.
The painting will be carefully packaged and sent tracked and insured with a reputable carrier.

I was born near London and spent my teenage years on the Isle of Wight. Following university in the UK and Canada, I spent many years working in health and education settings as a speech and language therapist, and also as a dance movement therapist in private practice.
I have always painted, and a few years ago took the bold decision to concentrate fully on my painting. I now live and work from my home in the beautiful borderlands between England and Wales, and make frequent painting journeys for inspiration further afield to the hills and coastlines of the north of England and Scotland.
