This image depicts the holy bird of the Aztec – Quetzal. It was highly revered by these Mezoamerican people as a vessel of the divine. While working on this picture I was imagining these little colourful birds resisting the external pressures during the decline of the Aztec civilization. I envisioned them trying to withstand the oppressive influence of the changing times, to defend the spirit and the traditions of the civilization doomed to disappear forever.

I was born in 1990 in the city of Kyiv, spent my childhood in the far north of Russia. I have never had a special art education, however, I have always been passionate about art. Feeling very enthusiastic, I am continuing to improve my skills.

Currently, I live and work in Moscow. As a young artist, I am always in search of new forms and styles. However, acrylic and mascara dominate in my works today. Works can be attributed to such styles as abstractionism and expressionism. Mostly performed without sketches, in the tradition of visionaries, the work is inspired by dreams, nightmares, images of spirits and demons.
