It draws upon some of my previous images but pushes the boundary - the colours, lines, shapes simply explode from the core of the image. It is unfettered joy captured as colour.
The image won a Gold Medal in the Creative Division of the 125th International Salon photography competition.
The original image was a beautiful, detailed photograph of a glowing gas patio heater at night. This image provided all the colours needed for the final image.
The initial shape was totally changed by a combination of mirror effects, morphing effects and stretching pixels to their extreme, culminating is a mirrored-spiral final shape.
The piece is all about abundance, exuberance, motion and excitement. Viewers are drawn to it because it takes them into a different world vision. What is it? Is it real? Is it an abstract? The image gives people time to ponder and think, whilst transporting them to a different mental state. It embodies and encourages inquisitiveness.
