Through her creations which lie between abstraction and allusive figuration, Françoise GOSSET mobilizes different processes and techniques in the service of an expression where questions, memories and evocations mingle.
In this personal approach, she "sculpts" the canvas of her paintings, thus animating the support with its relief, playing on the oppositions of smooth and pleated. She also uses materials exploring the effects of their textures, the expression of their experiences...
At the bend of sketched lines, silhouettes and signs can sometimes be glimpsed. The color accentuates or attenuates the shapes, playing with shine, nuances and contrasts. All of these processes remain at the service of the expression of an emotion that the spectator is invited to decipher in the light of the title.
She has previously frequently presented her works in the context of personal or collective exhibitions on the island of Reunion where she lived for more than twenty years. Now living on the Vendée coast where she grew up, she mixes the evocation of these two influences with the expression of her feelings.
