Enzo Nicotra is an Italian painter.
He started as a child to draw animals (especially horses). During his childhood he was very struck by observing a lion of a well known Park of the town: the big cats will be portrayed by him through painting years later, in adulthood, in contexts very different from their natural habitat.
At the end of the 90s he began to paint copper-colored sea views, exposing them for the first time in 2001 at the Art Gallery "Case D'Arte" in Bologna, together with a series of oil paintings representing internal settings from psychedelic atmosphere, with references to a future in which the human brain is almost completely governed by communications technology; in those years the first paintings depicting dashboard of spaceships were also born.
In 2002, at the De Marchi Art Gallery (Bo), he exhibited another theme dedicated to seascapes, animals and representations characterized by the presence of elements that refer to the "fantastic" world.
In the following periods he received several orders from Italy and abroad for the realization of paintings representing animals, such as black panthers.
From those years he has always continued to produce his subjects, such as animals in theaters, forests and images with dashboard of spaceships or cars of the future.
In 2019 he will hexibit in several Italian galleries a collection of works that briefly summarized his twenty-year research.
His works are part of private collections in Bologna, Forte dei Marmi, Varese, Pavia, Brussels and in several African countries.
