Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Time is the perception of change. When man no longer perceives change, time ceases to exist. The only way to no longer perceive change, is if we are evolving so fast as to be undiscernable to our human senses. In, A Man Set The Clock, I explored the squaring of the circle inside the dimension of time, while being surrounded by the many perceptions of time outside our own dimension. Inside, we are or it is 5. Some will understand this statement. In the circle of the clock, a question is posed from one individual to another. In my mind's scenario, 2 men stand face to face. One man asks, "What time is it?" the other man responds, "I don't know, a man set the clock." The implication that we can never say to another definitively what time it is (because the original clock was created and set by man not nature) is confounding to say the least when we consider how much of our society is based upon timeliness, past, present, future, when all is ONE MOMENT in evolution.

This piece was created with layers of paper with definitions and writings about time from various sources. Ink and acrylic paint is then applied in thin layers and scrubbings in thin layers allowing for the writing to luminously shine through. The canvas edge is painted, but I reccommend framing this piece.
