Welcome my name is Deana Lassooy {1963}. I am an artist, housewife, mother and friend. In my studio in the picturesque Noordwijkerhout I give painting lessons and work on my own creations. I like to work freely and like to stimulate my own creative input. I have been given the creative genes in my DNA, hence my name myDeaNA and over the years I have started to refine myself more and more. My mother has been an important source of inspiration for me and still is. We share a love for old photos of movie stars and observing colors.

One of my specialties is painting portraits. I was drawn to the portrait from the very beginning. Where it starts with a charcoal or sketch and then breathes life into it with colors and light, I find it a challenge every time. Furthermore, I feel privileged that I live in the heart of the bulb region and is surrounded by the many colorful and fragrant flower fields. I also partly find my inspiration here. I also love animals and can be found in nature every day. Over the years I have developed my own style. I start my paintings with a classic structure and on top of that I paint the following layers in a loose colorful touch. Everything is possible and allowed, painting for the sake of painting itself, not thinking but doing. A painting is created with a cup of coffee in hand and my four-legged friend at my feet. My repertoire is very diverse. For example, I really like pictures of old movie stars, hence the Vintage line. But I also think the movie stars of today are cool to do.
