Van Gogh is one of my favorite artist. His frantic, quick brush strokes that look haphazard somehow come together to create a beautiful painting. On the more contemporary front I like what Adrian Ghenie has done with a portrait that has the traits of an abstract. I chose to do this painting as a homage to both Van Gogh and Ghenie. Van Gogh is one of my favorite artist. His frantic, quick brush strokes that look haphazard somehow come together to create a beautiful painting. On the more contemporary front I like what Adrian Ghenie has done with a portrait that has the traits of an abstract. I chose to do this painting as a homage to both Van Gogh and Ghenie. As the title states, All Things Cone To an End, I wanted to show the loss and death of Van Gogh and his brushstrokes replaced with the palette knife and smeared abstract colors.
There is great depth, colors and thick to this painting.

"For me, painting is a way to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and emotions.  With many of my works I try to tell a story thru the piece itself.  It may be in the subjects' eyes or the brush strokes or even the colors I use.  Many times I use art as a way to highlight a particular person or event in history.  I look for the personality within the subject and try and find a way to express it visually. For me, Painting can challenge, frustrate and empower all at the same time. I want emotion and curiosity to play apart when someone views my work.
