Constantin Conghilete's Online Gallery of Oil & Acrylic Canvas Wall Art Paintings
Since my days in college I have loved to paint and draw, but I never thought that it was possible to create a late career in the artistic field. A childhood dream has now become a reality after a lot of education, passion and hard work.
MY PROCESS :I like to paint on canvas most off the time. I also have some artworks on cardboard canvas or wood, but mostly I do my paintings on carefully selected canvas. I do it with a palette knife with oil or in acrylic colours. I can say that I like to paint more with a knife and oil on canvas, I feel it is a much better "listener" to my thoughts.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY :
Born on September 4th, 1960, in a south Romanian village about 100 kilometers West from Bucharest, in a Romanian family, with Italian origins from the side of my father. After, I moved with my family to the East of the country at the age of 3, to a frontier city of Galati in Romania. The communist period of Romania had already began. At that period of time it was escalating and it was during those moments it was not a simple thing because my passion for art was quickly restricted.
I had to wait until 1989 and the falling of communism in Eastern Europe to be able to start exposing my artworks, but in this part of my life I was mostly attracted by the art of photography and model ship. I got a couple of awards on local and regional (Eastern Europe) photography contests in the early '90s.
I re-started to draw and paint in the mid 90's and I saw my passion rebor ; my passion for painting. A couple of years after, I started to sell my paintings. It wasn't yet the start I wanted. Years after, in 2005, after my son Florin had grew, he pushed me to sell on the Internet (it was the period of quickly development of Internet) and I quickly had become invited to different fairs and art markets to expose my artworks. A lot of orders from different hotels, organisations, events organizers, companies and private individuals from Romania started to appear. And after that, the international opening via Internet brought me a lot of happy customers with my paintings.
So far, everything of that was hobby, a lot of passion, and done in parallel or after my working hours. Yes, I worked as a railroad terminal operator, but I decided to move on to a professional side of the art in 2015 when I started to study art at the University of Visual Arts in Galati, Romania. 3 years after, I have finished my studies and I received a couple of awards after participating in a couple of international art festivals.
Once I finished my studies, I moved to France, at Strasbourg and joined my son, who's living and working here. Here, I have found a perfect environment to do my paintings, express my ideas and I am able to give life to my thoughts.
