My name is Berenice Corta and I am the artist behind these paintings. I would like to share with you a few words about myself.
I was born in Bucharest, Romania
After I finished my studies at the University of Arts in Bucharest, I started my career as an artist working for newspapers, mostly graphic projects. I worked for museums reconstructing old paintings, and was involved in new projects with graphic and fashion design. Between '81 - '87 I had my own line of fashion creations and I was already selling them to fashion boutiques.
From 1987 I have lived in Nazareth - Israel - a place that has given me a great deal of inner quite and spirituality. Here I started a couple of years ago to paint on eggs - work that gives me pemanent joy and challenges me constantly - both for the difficulty to paint on such small surfaces and for finding new and original subjects. My paintings are taken from different sources such as religious, modern and naive paintings, japanese art and, of course, original creations. I also paint portraits using photos.
My paintings are shown in art galleries in Romania and Israel, and also in private collections in USA, Canada and Europe.
