 Hi, I’m Candice Grant!

Color makes me giddy! Creating colorful abstract art puts my mind and my anxiety more at ease. I always feel it’s the feeling of being lost and then you’re found that’s how I feel with abstract art. It truly lets me be me. I started creating art by chance suffering from anxiety and fresh out of Graphic Design School. As a self-taught abstract artist from Surrey, BC graphic design felt restricted, wanting to be bold and I found a connection with abstract art. Through color, I found I could speak without saying a word. I create as I believe in thinking differently to provoke thoughts with the ability to capture the feeling of freedom and movement in a balanced abstraction. I’m always inspired by my environment I keep an open mind to be inspired by ideas which could be anything from broken lines on the ground, shadows, the shedding of a tree, cloud formations, or how the colors of a rainbow collide. I love hiking and seeing how the colors mingle with each other collecting rocks and shells along the way. In my abstract paintings, I want people to feel a sense of joy and imaginative freedom. Color uplifts your mood, it brightens a room and color makes me happy!
