The Minneapolis Institute of Art has been barred from borrowing artifacts from Italian state museums due to a dispute over a marble sculpture, Doryphoros, which Italy claims was looted in the 1970s. In response, Italy has halted collaboration but has made efforts to reconcile by lending other significant artworks to the MIA.
