Mohamed AZZOUG
Mohamed Azzoug, Artiste peintre, sculpteur, graphiste, décorateur, designer et céramiste. Né en 1973 à Alger (Algérie). Il a grandi dans le quartier de Ben Omar. Il se destine très tôt au dessin et au modelage dès sa prime enfance et encouragé par un oncle peintre et restaurateur d'œuvres d'art, En 1993, il s'oriente vers l'Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts d'Alger où il découvre la céramique, la peinture et le design.
Il participe à plusieurs expositions nationales et internationales. Admirateur des artistes italiens de la renaissance,
il opte pour une voie moderniste dans l'art et pratique la peinture, la sculpture et le design.

MOHAMED AZZOUG, ARTISTE PLASTICIEN
Le 20 novembre prochain, l’artiste compte présenter ses oeuvres lors d’une exposition collective à l’ambassade de France.
Il s’appelle Mohamed Azzoug, il est plasticien, peintre et design, céramiste de formation. Cet ancien élève de l’Ecole des beaux-arts est un artiste qui prend son temps. Il a plusieurs fois exposé ses oeuvres en France et en Algérie, mais pas nombreuses comparé à d’autres. C’est normal, il est encore jeune. Il compte deux expositions individuelles dont une en 2006 avec pour thème «Envoûtant voyage» au Centre culturel algérien à Paris, une autre en 2007 à l’occasion du bicentenaire de l’Emir Abdelkader au Centre culturel algérien de Paris ainsi qu’une exposition, en 2008, ayant pour thème le «Marché de Noël» toujours à l’ambassade de France à Alger. Durant cette même année, il réalisa le trophée du meilleur roman du Salon international du livre (Sila). Son style d’art est le figuratif, allant vers le réalisme. Le 20 novembre prochain, il compte exposer une série d’oeuvres dans le cadre d’une exposition collective. Cette exposition durera une journée. Même si son premier travail consiste à faire des portraits, Mohamed Azzoug n’en fait pas absolument une spécialité. «Ce n’est pas calculé», dit-il. Et de préciser: «J’aime bien travailler le détail, le regard, l’émotion. Il ne s’agit pas de reproduction. El Anka c’est plus un hommage.» Artiste, notre ami est aussi infographiste. Mais l’art est sa vraie passion. Actuellement, son travail a pris une nouvelle tournure. Avec un retour à la source, l’artiste plasticien enjolive la céramique. On sort du portrait, à titre d’exemple, dans cette oeuvre intitulée Cérémonie du thé. «C’est une combinaison entre la nature morte et le portrait, entre le réel et l’imaginaire», fait-il remarquer. «L’art, ce n’est pas du copier-coller. Mais on tend constamment à évoluer. Le travail artistique compte beaucoup pour moi. Il ne suffit pas de peindre. Il faut prendre son temps pour trouver une idée intéressante et la peaufiner.» Doué pour le dessin et la sculpture dès sa prime enfance, depuis l’âge de 4 ans, il a été encouragé par un oncle peintre et restaurateur d’oeuvres d’art, auquel il rend un vibrant hommage à travers ces colonnes. «Ravi à la fleur de l’âge en 1982, à 31 ans, mon oncle feu Tayeb Redouane a nourri mon amour pour cet art», dit-il. L’enfant prodige s’oriente vers l’Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts d’Alger en 1993 jusqu’à l’année 2000 où il découvre la céramique. Il a participé à plusieurs expositions à l’Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts d’Alger de 1994 à 1996. Il a également marqué sa touche au Palais de la culture d’Alger en 2002, à la galerie Mohamed-Racim en 2003 ainsi qu’ à Bou-Saâda dans la wilaya de M’sila pour rendre hommage à Etienne Dinet, au Musée Etienne-Dinet en 2003. Doucement mais sûrement, l’artiste plasticien polyvalent s’affirme comme une valeur sûre dans le paysage pictural algérien. Souhaitons-lui plein de succès dans ses projets.
