J’ai découvert le vitrail grâce à mon professeur d’histoire de l’art. Il était passionné par l’architecture
romane et en particulier par celle de l’église de Romont.
L’architecture et l’art religieux n’étaient pas ma tasse de thé. Mais ce que j’aimais dans ce lieu ce sont les effets de couleur que la lumière produisait sur les murs de cette bâtisse lorsqu’elle traversait ses nombreux vitraux. Il y avait, selon les heures, une ambiance à chaque fois nouvelle et étrange. Et c’est cela, que qui m’a attiré dans
le vitrail.
Mais voilà, l’art religieux était pour moi franchement réducteur pour ne pas dire rédhibitoire. Et puis, un jour au détour d’une brocante, je suis tombée nez à nez avec une lampe de style Tiffany et ce fut le déclic.
Au printemps 2005, je me suis inscrite, juste pour essayer, à un cours d’initiation au vitrail Tiffany. J’avais à peine coupé mon premier morceau de verre que j’avais attrapé le virus. Et depuis, je coupe, je sertis et je soude dès que j’ai quelques heures devant moi! Quel plaisir !
