The quilt is a peculiar “paraphrase” of Leon Bakst’s picture of a costume for Vaclav Nijinsky in the ballet of same name. The figure of the dancer is appliquéd onto a slightly quilted background. The elements of the “costume” and the picture itself are variously quilted, handquilted and beaded. The quilt is also embroidered with cords.
In two free places of background in the top of the picture you can see the information about the character and the play stitched with golden thread.
The picture can’t be sold apart from the whole triptych.

I’m glad to meet you at this gallery and I hope you will like my quilts.
I’ve been working in different textile techniques for all my life, but I became interested in art-quilting only several years ago. In our country this art isn’t as popular as I’d like it to be so me and my colleagues are spreading it.
I take part in various regional and national exhibitions, festivals and competitions and I’m going to participate in European ones. My quilted pictures are bought for private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
