"Art versus Design".

Several years ago I worked on a recycling project.
Objective: to design a useful piece of furniture. Artifiële character was on the foreground.
During this project "Reïncarnation" was born.
A decaying back of a wooden antique chair and a lot of old steel wire formed the basis for this Chair.
The old oxidized steel wire was deformed into a seat with legs.
The metal was attached to/on the wooden backrest.
An unusual combination, wood with metal. Together they form the Chair "Reïncarnation".
The ultimate recycle piece of furniture par excellence.
Beautifully designed art object.
More an object to look at.

Design
After "reincarnation" had seen the outside world, it disappeared for a long period.

Since the start of my "Cupboard project" I was frequently asked to "reincarnation" and they asked when my design chair came (every designer does have its own chair).
I found that my chair agreements should exhibit with "Reïncarnation".

This resulted in "Connected chair".
The metal is now an amalgamation/interplay with the wood and leather back or session.
The metal shavings are fully manual is deformed. It is a labor intensive process.

Een aantal jaren geleden werkte ik aan een recycing project.
Doelstelling: een bruikbaar meubelstuk te ontwerpen. Artificiële karakter lag op de voorgrond.

Tijdens dit project werd "Reïncarnation" geboren.
Een half vergane rug van een houten antieke stoel en en hoop oud staaldraad vormden de basis voor deze stoel. Het oude geoxideerde staaldraad werd vervormd tot een zitting met poten. Het metaal werd bevestigd op/aan het houten rugdeel.
Een ongebruikelijke combinatie, hout en metaal. Tesamen vormen ze de stoel "Reïncarnation".
Het ultieme recycle meubelstuk bij uitstek.
Mooi vormgegeven kunstobject. Meer een object om naar te kijken. Een museaal stuk.

Design
Nadat "Reïncarnation" de buitenwereld had gezien, verdween deze voor een lange periode.
Sinds de opstart van mijn "Cupboard project" werd me regelmatig gevraagd naar "Reïncarnation" en men vroeg wanneer mijn designstoel kwam(iedere designer heeft wel een eigen stoel).
Ik vond dat mijn stoel overeenkomsten zou moeten vertonen met "Reïncarnation".

Dit resulteerde in "Connected chair".
Het metaal vormt nu een samensmelting/samenspel met het hout en leder rug of leder zitting. De metalen krullen zijn volledig handmatig vervormt. Het is een arbeidsintensief proces.
