Born in 1962, in Toulouse in the south of France, Marc LASSERRE spent more than 15 years living in and around Paris before setting up his studio in Marseille in 2009. He divides his time now between two studios, the one in Marseille and the other in La Verdière in the Haut-Var region. His first ventures into art were via photography and wood sculpture. Painting has become the passion of his poetic soul in recent years and his favourite times to paint are during the last light of day as a Mediterranean evening approaches and in the bright weekend light of La Verdière. With his works now being valued by DROUOT of Paris and his name appearing in AKOUN, the renowned French dictionary of art, Marc Lasserre, continues to sharpen his skills in Lyrical Abstraction under the influence of the works of the French-Chinese painter ZAO WOU-KI .
