Contemporary artist, trained at the Villa Arson in Nice and graduated from Beaux Arts de Bourges with honors, Arielle Thomas is registered with the artists' house.
Abstract painter, she works in the "felt".
Because she works above all "in the moment", for Arielle THOMAS each painting is a questioning, it is the inspiration of the moment that prevails. Favoring evocation rather than narration, the goal of his research is the synthetic expression of refined and disciplined emotional imprints, translating through color and form what, in a secret or informal way, can arise in each of us, by concentrating on the essential, ceaselessly refining the language, sometimes even exploiting accidents , to always go further, until the work reveals itself as a distinct entity. The recent use of natural pigments has allowed him to go even further in this process.
“I do not depict, I paint, I do not represent, I present”, she made this concept of Soulages her own. What counts is not the immediate vision that one can have of it but the interior resonance that a canvas causes, it is what the viewer can perceive, feel or hear. To represent a subject resembles a repetition if the artist does not bring into play this part of himself which opens the passage from representation to interpretation.
The outcome of his painting can only result from an echo between the creator and the seeker, on which there is no question of imposing a vision or a preconceived meaning. None of his canvases require instructions for use. It is in everyone who looks at them.
