Antonio Pirozzi, architect and painter, was born in Giugliano in Campania (NA). He obtained an artistic diploma at the state art school of Aversa and subsequently a degree in architecture at the Federico II in Naples where he worked until 2007 as a researcher in architectural and pictorial restoration.
As a painter he trained, since the year of his debut (1996) in the field of metaphysical painters, experimenting in particular with the unusual atmospheres and places so dear to Giorgio De Chirico.
In recent years, however, his painting (often interrupted by professional activity) has undergone a decisive shift towards surrealist reality: the canvases, in fact, now crystallize dreamed and unreal atmospheres, compositions of remarkable poeticity, built on absurd combinations that seem to recall the sphere of the subconscious.
However, his painting remains in the balance between these two apparently different currents, but in reality linked by a common thread: the dream and human psychology.
Antonio Pirozzi has carried out his activity as an artist mainly in the cities of the Neapolitan area, exhibiting his works both regionally and nationally. His artistic activity has also been enriched by numerous research trips to Spain and the United States and to countries that have led him to direct acquaintance with surrealist artists of good international level such as Vladimir Kush and Rafael Olbinski.
He currently lives and works in Mugnano di Napoli, where he works as a painter and architect in his own professional studio.
