Antonia Téllez is a visual artist who uses engraving as the main language to enhance the progression of her work.
She proposes to re-examine the traditional techniques of intaglio engraving, rescuing the strength of its processes from a contemporary perspective.
It is a rigorous work, which addresses the traditional use of etching and aquatint techniques as a visual strategy that proposes intense hatching, degradation, infinite richness of gray, to introduce us to an illogical use of light that worries us, that questions us in a way unknown and leads us towards a parallel reality, where the codes are different, where what is is transformed into what is not.
From that suggestive reality, the objects became the characters of the tale, the cups, plates, spoons have displaced nature and the human being. They are characters that generate relationships from spatiality and from impossible light codes that recreate infinity from the intimate, the close to the smallest detail, generating powerful links of identification with the spectators, connecting them with their own experiences.
