Illustrator and graphic designer by training, (having worked in medical illustration for the University of Lausanne) who became a painter out of passion and a need for freedom, Anne Collay presents her new series of paintings.
The artist expresses a fusional world linked to the vibration of the landscapes she crosses during long hikes. The harmonies drawn from her love of nature are the source of her relentless creativity.
A colorist at heart, she works with rigor, releasing the architecture of her paintings from the depths.
To achieve a solid composition, she watches for the emergence of the unknown in the light of day or twilight. The painter uses this particularity to guide the viewer's eye to the key points of the painting, to the object of desire...

Working mainly in oil on wood or linen canvas. Her goal is to develop maximum color intensity through the quality of contrasts and the subtlety of the hues and nuances she discovers there. The suppleness, smoothness and sensuality of these materials inspire her day after day, canvas after canvas.... The materials gradually build the composition, leading her to move, modulate, scratch, transform constantly until the moment when the artist recognizes what she expected, what she intimately wanted.
The painter is both actor and spectator of the painting in the making.
The finished work seems to breathe, it is autonomous and invites everyone's imagination to continue the path begun. There are an infinite number of possible realities to recreate and share.
Anne Collay lives and works in the south of France.
Since 1991, her creations have also been present in private collections in Switzerland, Belgium and Germany.
