Asher Kalderon / Curiculum Vitae

Background
Born in Bulgaria.
Emigrated to Israel in 1948 and studied art and design at Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. He's
active in art &design for private, public and governmental institutions. Specialized in Europe graphic
art & design. . A.K. has designed over 60 Israeli postage stamps, coins and medals as well as
stamps for the UN Postal Administration.
A.K. practices for many years painting and three dimentional art & sculpture. He has created 3D
art objects for private and institutional clients. His art creations include paintings, memorial
sculptures for the public and privat organisations, tapestries & art objects, art prints and
illustrations. Wife Lea cooperates in executing his tapestry designs into superior textile and wool
fiber wall hangings made by professional workshops in Israel and used also for calendars, posters
and greeting cards.

Collections
His creations are owned by private and institutional collectors and exhibited over the world. A.K.
works under special assignments in close cooperation with architects and interior designers.

Appointments
Appointed for many public missions:
* Member of the professional jury at the Israeli Philatelic Service
* Member of the public Committee at the Bank of Israel for issue of coins & banknotes
* Missions for the American-Israel Foundation and the Ministry of Education.
* Member of the jury in numerous design competitions.
* Lecturer in national and international forums.

Awards
A.K. has won more than hundred national and international awards and entitlements:
* The Minister's of Culture and Education National Award for design and art achievements for the
Jewish culture;
* Distinguished Leadership Award by the American Biographical Institute for outstanding and
extraordinary achievements in Art and Communication Design.
* Honorable member in The Graphic Designers Assosiation in Israel
* Former member in The Art Directors Club of New York, USA
* Numerous first prizes in stamp, coin & medals, poster & simbol national & international design
contests.
* Awards for Exelence in Art & Design in Israel and abroad.

Exhibitions
A.K. has exhibited and exhibits in national and international one man and group shows & exhibitions
in Israel, U.S.A.,London, several shows in Germany, France,Finland, Poland, South America etc.
