Nacido en la ciudad de A Coruña en un invernizo mes de febrero, en el seno de una familia de artistas entre los que se destacó el ltio político de su padre, Rafel López Álvarez, pintor escultor y restaurador del Museo del Prado en Madrid donde apreciaría de el su influencia para continuar con las Bellas Artes, no obstante apreciaría en gran manera al que seria su gran maestro en lass tecnicas impresionistas, el afamado Luis García Bernardo de la escuela de San Fernando, y también al maestro en el dibujoo con lápices de color el belga Cristian de Lener.Ya en 1980 marcharía a Barcelona donde aprendería los procedimientos del Offset y el diseño gráfico en una empresa importadora de libros. En la actualidad preside una asociación de artistas y da clases de dibujo y pintura. Fue el creador del espiculaismo.
