Many people enjoy loneliness because it is believed to lead to creativity, self-realization, and is fully suited to personal development. Loneliness is often associated with spirituality. But for me, loneliness is, first of all, a feeling of emptiness and deaf silence. It is a dehydrated desert, cracked from lack of water.

Loneliness leads to pain, grief, fear, exhaustion. Loneliness does not allow living and interferes with creativity and self-realization, in contrast to solitude. But the worst of all is loneliness among people. A lonely person dies from the fact that there is no one to love him, there is no one to even listen to him. In this world, it is important to be heard, to be loved, and to feel that you are not alone. This is what my new painting is about.

This painting was presented at Contemporary Venice 2021, Itsliquid International Art Fair in Venice, Italy.

Eleonora Taranova was born in a small Ukrainian town in 1971. As a child, she lived in a village house with animals and observed their behavior. She learned to portray the emotions and movements of pets on her own since there was no art school in the town.

After working as a teacher at a higher school for over 20 years, she quit her job for health reasons and took up painting as a hobby. Now she is working as a full-time artist in animalistic and figurative genres for the last 13 years.

Eleonora draws inspiration from the rock carvings' simplicity and expressiveness, the emotionality of the works of Rembrandt and Vrubel, the human form depiction of Francis Bacon, and bright colored works of Franz Mark. Her latest discovery is the works of Danish artist Oluf Hartmann, in which she finds answers to her questions.

Fleeing the war, Eleonora appeared in Denmark where she is based now. The artist researches emotions with the aim of opposing and finding common ground between human and animal psychology. She awakens empathy and pays tribute to animals that fill our lives with devotion and love, and inspire us with their natural beauty. The artist speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves.
