In the heart of transformation, between the crumbling of the old self and the emergence of the new, there lies a raw, electric space — "WRECKAGE. DEFRAGMENTATION"

This painting was born from the exploration of what it means to change, to grow, to let go of certainties. It draws inspiration from philosophical reflections on uncertainty and resilience, echoing the journey of characters like Neo from The Matrix or the mythical Phoenix rising anew.

Created as part of the "Space of Uncertainty" series, this piece intertwines abstract and figurative elements to portray the delicate, powerful moment when the familiar identity dissolves and a new one waits to emerge. Using rich textures and deep, emotive tones, the artist invites viewers to step into this liminal space where questions are more powerful than answers.

Dmytro Dotsenko is a Ukrainian artist working in figurative painting, drawing, and multidisciplinary practices.

Born in 1993 in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. He received his formal education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, where he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Fine Arts.

Dmytro has been engaged in art since early childhood. His artistic language combines academic visuality with contemporary themes: human transformation, inner path, the state of uncertainty, identity in the digital age, the impact of technology, war, and memory. His works reflect both personal and collective experiences, blending symbolic strength with emotional depth and conceptual insight. In his recent practice, he explores a stylized realism enriched with elements of monumentality and visual codes from digital environments.

Over the past five years, he has held six solo exhibitions and participated in more than twenty group projects in Ukraine and abroad. He was a resident at the international art program Künstlerhaus Meinersen (Germany, 2023–2024) and took part in the interdisciplinary project "Zinzhyr: Chains of Memory" supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (2023).

His works are held in private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Portugal, and the United States.
