Dima Dobrovolskij is an artist born and raised in Latvia who has lived in Berlin since 1999. The cultural diversity of his old homeland shaped his childhood and youth. In Berlin he intensively dealt with diversity and complexity of this rapidly changing city and its countless artistic influences from all over the world. He combines his wide-ranging experiences between artistic and technical training and professional activity as an artist and engineer in his works. In doing so, he uses a variety of techniques for his artistic expression. In addition to painting, he has been working in recent years mainly with analog and digital collage and mixed media, designs partly interactive sculptures and acts as a performance artist. In workshops he passes on his knowledge and skills.

Der Advent naht, der Weihnachtsmann ist auf dem Weg, sein Stellvertreter aus Schokolade schon jetzt zu verspeisen.
Am Freitag, dem 24.11.23 und Sonntag, den 26.11.23 jeweils von 18:00 bis 22:00 zeigen Sebastian Herrling und Dima Dobrovolskij Collagen, die sich künstlerisch mit dem Thema Weihnachten, dessen spirituellem Ursprung und seiner Kommerzialisierung in der heutigen Zeit auseinandersetzen.
Obwohl sich die meisten von uns nach Ruhe, Besinnlichkeit und Liebe sehnen, artet es häufig in Hektik und Stress aus. Dabei erfasst der “Konsumterror” inzwischen weite Teilen der Welt. Ein Grund mehr für das Duo Euch zur Reflexion über dieses Thema anzuregen.

Eine Ausstellung zu dem Thema “patriarchalischen Auswirkungen auf die jetzige Weltordnung”. Medien, die uns umgeben, sind von männlichen Belangen geprägt. Macht ist Liebe, meinen einige immer noch. In der interaktiven Ausstellung wird die Diversität der Druckmedien dargestellt, die unseren Alltag füllt. Dabei hinterfragt das Konzept die symbolische Deutung der Charaktere und der Abbildungen.
Zäune, Zölle und Staubsauger, diese Dinge umgeben uns und geben das Lebenstempo vor. Dabei ändern sich mediale Texte, doch weniger die dazu gehörende Bilder. Diesen Fragen geht die Ausstellung nach.
