Biography
Diana Rosa is a contemporary Canadian painter known for her narrative artworks that delve into the complexities of human emotions and feature animals as central protagonists. With a distinctive approach, she creates intimate scenarios capturing the human figure engaged in leisurely pursuits and moments of profound reflection. Rosa's paintings often explore themes of spirituality and self, revealing hidden stories and conjuring dreamlike spaces that invite viewers to contemplate deeper meanings.
Employing a Naïve Folk-Art style, Diana Rosa tackles questions of identity, love, relationships, and the environment within our society. Her unique artistic voice, grounded in a background in curatorial studies, reflects a keen awareness of the female gaze. The use of deeply colorful hues and exotic environments in her paintings adds layers of richness to her storytelling.
Diana Rosa earned her Bachelor's degree in Art History from Oriente University in Cuba. Committed to continuous learning, she further honed her understanding of modern art through the online course "Modern Art and Ideas" at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 2016. Additionally, she expanded her knowledge of art history with a focus on Renaissance art to the present through online learning at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York, in 2019.
