Joseph de Uthia a contemplado dentro de sus vertientes pictóricas el suprematismo como eje principal del acontecer en su pintura, rasgos certeros ,aparentes del ejercicio de la no representación ,teorizado en 1920 por Kasimir Malevich en colaboración con el poeta Vladimir Maiakovski (el suprematismo o el mundo de la no representación) una tendencia que deriva del cubismo y que se sustenta en geometrías puras y absolutas como son el cuadrado, el circulo o el triangulo y que en principio postulaba un arte basado en la supremacía absoluta de la sensibilidad, plástica pura por encima de todo descriptivísimo naturalista y libre de todo fin social o materialista.

Aquello como punto de partida en su obra ha ido camino a la experimentación y hacia la búsqueda de una nueva forma de lenguaje en su quehacer pictórico, en el cual ha ido derivándose a la figuración de la imagen optando para ello con iconos reconocibles y personajes representativos del medio.

En esta última producción del autor se avizora en la imagen cierta manipulación propia por así decirlo de las nuevas tecnologías, una especie de intervención en la imagen, propia de las nuevas tendencias y la influencia de los medios.

La reducción expresiva del mundo en contraposición con el origen de la vertiente primaria del suprematismo desaparece dando paso al manejo de las imágenes presentadas, tomando una direccionalidad final hacia el arte pop.

Es en este, en donde Uthia alimenta su paleta en un acercamiento a los recursos del arte digital procurando no desligarse por completo de la pintura, obteniendo así un resultado visual
lleno de color y expresión dotando a cada retrato de la impresión requerida.

Los retratos presentados asumen en primera instancia una relación con nuestro entorno más conocido, personajes relevantes dentro de sus determinadas disciplinas, los cuales dejaron precedentes importantes (otros aun) fruto de su continuo discurrir, también están aquí retratados los iconos o personajes mas universales, sin duda una inclinación por abordar el conjunto a partir de la misma substancia.

Producto de la recreación en cada uno de los personajes es que se avizora el cambio que cada uno ejerció en su momento ,socialmente a partir de la actividad desempeñada, la presente es a la vez un indicativo del recuerdo en la conciencia por no dejarlos ir , mantenerlos a la vez como el propio autor ,en el presente.
