To set the darkness echoing (2012) 미술작품 Derick Hegarty 로

Derick Hegarty is a Cork born artist. He graduated in 2012 with an honours degree in fine art from C.I.T Craword College of Art. He was awarded the Alliance Francaise Exhibition Award at EXXIT, Crawford Degree Exhibition in June 2012 leading to his first solo exhibition, Beneath Shadow and Reason in September of that year. His dark, subtly coloured works in oils are very emotionally charged, representing an internal landscape fragmented with elements of reality. This work alternates in form from dark semi abstract landscapes to agonised tormented figures.
"My painting is not politically aware nor does it have a social conscience which is the expectation from much art today. Instead it is rather introspective. It takes elements from the physical world and brings it to a place of imagination and personal experience. Like the expressionists I seek to express emotion more so than physical reality. Creating a sense of mood and atmosphere is an important part of the experience and it is my hope that this mood resonates with the viewer. If paintings are windows, mine peer into a world where the line between physical reality and the emotional landscape of
the mind is blurred"
