My work consists of works on paper including, water color, pen & ink, pastels, and pencil drawing. I have been involved with art for over 30 years. I have a B.A. in Art from Chicago State University. At this time, I feel the need to brush up on some techniques and skills and move forward with my career as an artist.
In my art I try to depict life as I see it. I have been an artist all but the first five years of my life. From that point on I’ve looked at things from a creative perspective. The first time I saw someone paint a picture in Kindergarten, I knew, this was something I wanted to do.
The art that I create often is of scenarios in life that are endearing to me. A certain look, a laugh, or a mood created by an emotion. I try to capture this in all of my subject matter, portraits, animals, landscapes, and still life.
As an artist, or creative being, my goal is to recapture the energy that I witness day to day. The most important subjects that I explore are human settings, surroundings, and conditions, as well human interactions. Family tends to be very prevalent in my work because of the joy and love they have brought and continue to bring me. However, I also enjoy painting landscapes, wild life, and still life.
