Hands of Light is a handcrafted wooden cathedral born from a collaboration between two Ukrainian artists and generations of children. The structure mimics Gothic spires and rose windows using only ice cream sticks and glue — transforming ordinary materials into architecture of reverence and wonder.
Over the course of 15 years, Zhamoido and Bulba guided children to imagine, build, and believe. The result is not a toy, but a ritual — each element shaped by small hands and bright spirits.
In a time of uncertainty, Hands of Light reminds us: awe requires no marble, only intention.
Originally developed as part of an educational project in the form of books and creativity kit published in Ukraine and RF (before the war), this version of the artwork represents a full realization of the concept. The object stands as both an artifact and an invitation: to rediscover wonder in the smallest materials and the slowest gestures.
A step-by-step illustrated guide to creating the works (in the 2008-2016 versions) is available in PDF format and can be ordered directly from the author.
The guide is offered in Ukrainian or Russian (and can be easily translated into your preferred language - for example, using ChatGPT).

In every line, a child’s belief,
Each spire — a ray that cuts through grief.
From humble sticks, in quiet hands,
A temple rises, where love stands.
With fingers marked by glue and hope,
It builds no walls — it builds a scope.
Where rooftops touch the sky’s embrace,
This light was born from human grace.
***
A tiny cathedral, a soul so wide,
Held by small hands, with love as guide.
Each stick defies both death and dread —
When kindness leads where fingers tread.
***

### *Talented Artistic Offsprings (The Arts Observatory)* An informal association created to overcome the lack of spirituality and culture in society, develop and implement the **New Educational System**, and unlock the universal, spiritual, and creative potential of every child and every person.
### **New Educational System** The key difference of the proposed educational system is the awakening and development of a person’s **spiritual, creative, and emotional potential** above all else.
It focuses not so much on intellect, memory, or rote memorization of facts (as in traditional school and extracurricular education), but rather on the **soul of the individual**, self-discovery, understanding the world and its phenomena, the ability to realize oneself and one’s ideas in life, prioritizing selflessness and values beyond personal gain, embracing and following **true universal human values**, and achieving genuine spiritual fulfillment.
