Work Title: Triple Chapel of St. Nicholas
Artists: Zhamoido Anatolii & Bulba Natalia
Series: Magic Sticks
Original Design Year: 2010
Medium & Materials: Ice cream sticks, glue, beechwood base
Dimensions: 160 × 160 × 340 mm
Weight: 0.313 kg

This sculptural miniature is an artistic invocation of sacred presence through humble material. Made entirely of ice cream sticks and set on a smooth beechwood base, the chapel rises in three views — each side offering a unique perspective, one of them featuring a printed icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The structure recalls vernacular chapels found in Eastern Europe and Russia, with its bulbous dome, triple-arched details, and hand-layered roof panels. Its childlike simplicity belies the precision of its craft and the quiet reverence of its concept.
Part of the Magic Sticks series, this work celebrates transformation — from disposable to devotional, from simple to sacred.
Originally developed as part of an educational project in the form of books and creativity kit published in Ukraine and RF (before the war), this version of the artwork represents a full realization of the concept. The object stands as both an artifact and an invitation: to rediscover wonder in the smallest materials and the slowest gestures.
A step-by-step illustrated guide to creating the works (in the 2008-2016 versions) is available in PDF format and can be ordered directly from the author.
The guide is offered in Ukrainian or Russian (and can be easily translated into your preferred language - for example, using ChatGPT).

From popsicle sticks, a prayer is raised,
A dome that dreams, a saint who stays.
No marble here — but warmth instead,
And hope where humble fingers tread.

Threefold chapel here quietly stands,
Built not by wealth, but by loving hands.
An icon glows through the central pane,
As if St. Nicholas guards the flame.

.
Святий Миколай виглядає з тиші,
І хрест, мов молитва, здіймається вгору.
Вхід-вихід один для людської душі,
І в ньому присутність святого простору. (опору).

Realizing that within the Soviet/post-Soviet educational system, it was impossible to work and develop effectively, since 1995, together with several like-minded individuals, he has been conducting classes with children and teenagers on a voluntary basis within the framework of an informal creative organization—the **Talented Artistic Offsprings (The Arts Observatory)**. He develops and implements a **New Educational System**.

### *Talented Artistic Offsprings (The Arts Observatory)* An informal association created to overcome the lack of spirituality and culture in society, develop and implement the **New Educational System**, and unlock the universal, spiritual, and creative potential of every child and every person.
### **New Educational System** The key difference of the proposed educational system is the awakening and development of a person’s **spiritual, creative, and emotional potential** above all else.
It focuses not so much on intellect, memory, or rote memorization of facts (as in traditional school and extracurricular education), but rather on the **soul of the individual**, self-discovery, understanding the world and its phenomena, the ability to realize oneself and one’s ideas in life, prioritizing selflessness and values beyond personal gain, embracing and following **true universal human values**, and achieving genuine spiritual fulfillment.
