The journey:
Recent works
Grandson and great-grandson of miners from the north of France, I work with coal (formerly synonymous with progress for humanity and now of CO2, of prophesied regression) in all possibilities thus releasing all the potential of the sky. The idea of globalization, the environment and the place of man in it, is at the heart of my research and production.
from 2018 to the present day…
My current production lies in the continuity of the work started in 2003 on clouds. This basic material used first in video art then in digital art, and now in the form of drawing for four years, remains one of the areas of work to be explored again and again...
Charcoal allows this fluidity where the clouds seek each other, transform hesitantly between realism and abstract expressionism.
From large format to very large format
The progress of my work on Nuage material now brings me to other supports than large format paintings, so it is quite naturally that I turn to the landscape and the intervention on it through ephemeral land-Art, large rock frescoes on water towers where the coal just deposited and not fixed, naturally returns to the earth by the intervention of time and climatic hazards.
